Shasta Secondary Home School , founded in April, 1999, began its first year of operation in August of 1999. Beginning with 24 students and two employees, the school has grown to 230 students and 19 employees. Located in downtown Redding since 2003, we now have programs that encompass all aspects of educational learning styles. Begun as a 9-12 school, and expanded to grades 6-8 in 2002, we have also added the Bridges program for at-risk students, and began our own Special Education program in 2005. As our families are the reason for our continued success, we strive to bring those educational offerings that meet the standards, and needs, of all involved.

Shasta Secondary Home School is WASC accredited and was one of the first charter schools to receive the California Charter Schools accreditation for fiscal and educational excellence. Both of these are now an important aspect of public charter schools, with WASC now being a requirement for all charter schools, and the California Charter Schools accreditation becoming an important part of a charter school’s reliability as a public education institution.
